Mariya Yonkova is an accomplished lyric coloratura soprano, with vibrant, energetic, and charismatic presence both on stage and in life. She is described as "the best voice on stage" by the Opera with Opera News Magazine for her performance of Madame Lidoine from Dialogues des Carmelites by Francis Poulenc. She has won awards from numerous prestigious international vocal and opera competitions such as International Singing Competition Lazar Jovanovic (Serbia), International Chamber Singing Competition Pancho Vladigerov (Bulgaria), Concorso Internazionale Roma Lirica, The Korean Classical Singers Association Concours, The VI Green Chamber Orchestra Competition and The X Seoul Orchestra Concours (South Korea). Mariya has graduated from The Seoul National University in South Korea and The Royal Northern College of Music in England, where she has been recognised as an International Artist for her exceptional work as an opera singer. In addition, she has become a recipient of The Dame Eva Turner Award, Dorothy Stone Award, and Yvonne and Peter Wilson Award for young opera singers. Mariya's operatic repertoire consists of the following roles: Gilda (Rigoletto, Verdi), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor, Donizetti), Amina (La Sonnambula, Bellini), Adina (L'elisir d'amore, Donizetti), Norina (Don Pasquale, Donizetti), Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro, Mozart), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte, Mozart) and many more. Her concert repertoire includes art songs from Italian, German, Czech, French, English, Bulgarian and South Korean composers.
